Retired Naval Officer, Rescue Swimmer and Riverine.

Southwest Florida Native.

After twenty years of service in the U.S. Navy, I found myself wondering what to do when I grew up!  Since graduating from Cape Coral High School in 2001 and enlisting in the U.S. Navy, I have deployed 4 times, moved 9 times, swam in every ocean in the world, fished and chased ducks across the country, commissioned as a Naval Officer, earned bragging rights as the Navy's senior ranking active Rescue Swimmer romantically named the "Walrus", served with the most elite boat units in the world, sailed on three different ships...then retired.

So what do I want to do when I grow up...I want to fish!

Our summer camps are born from the idea of giving back to our youth.  Thru all my travels, the one thing I observed missing in our youths progression is the mentorship and teaching of both (1) how to lead and (2) how to make and achieve goals.  I wanted to fill that gap thru a team oriented approach on the water and incorporating my personal passions.

The Reconnect Camp is developed thru the missed and realized connections of my experiences in the U.S. Navy.  Many servicemembers will tell you that a deployment is not the worst part of the cycle, it is the build up to that experience.  Often born of long periods of time apart from family culminating in a long extended deployment, sometimes lasting for 8 months to a year or more.  Thru thousands of days deployed and training, my family became masters at capturing life's moments when we could.  Frequent fishing trips and days in the duck blind blurred the days we were forced apart.  The missed ball games and dances and child milestones didn't seem so bad because of the adventures (coined "Keith's Adventures by my wife") we embarked on when we were home.  This camp seeks to afford those adventures to our Southwest Florida friend's.  We set the scene...you make the memories.
